You can try MikAlleg. Or JGMOD if you use Allegro.
JGMOD is an add-on library for Allegro.
Mikalleg is converted from Mikmod so it can be compatible with Allegro but
it is a stand-alone library. Allegro is not needed.

JGMOD is a guestware. Just sign the jgmod guestbook and you are ok to use it
for free.
Original author of Mikmod abandoned it and it is now free. So, Mikalleg is
free as well. You don't need to pay the original author.
