Doesn't the built-in Allegro GUI do all these things? If not, can't you do a
hybrid of an existing GUI. For example, I understand that text-box support
is limited under the Allegro GUI. Why not look at the code, and adapt it for
your own use. Then all you need to do is to call your routine rather than
the Allegro one.
A C++ wrapper for the GUI functions would take approximately ten minutes if
you have already designed a good structure for it.
