I've solved my problem, after 1o hours straight all i needed was


int toInteger(string abc){
    char *str = abc.c_str();
    return atoi(str);
}


Since I am a novice, can anyone explain to me why this doesn't work
without the * near string? What does casting imply? Thanks.
