Thanks Nate for your quick response. I looked up every section 8.7 I could find in any faq but that didn't seem to describe my problem. Ok, here is the output of stderr after succesfully compiling and linking the program to an exe: stderr: Bad command or filename. Here's my autoexec.bat: SET PATH=%PATH%;D:\djgpp\bin; SET DJGPP=D:\djgpp\djgpp.env For the rest I didn't make any changes to the standard setup. The only difference is that i have version 2.8.1 of all DJGPP components, but since compiling and linking works fine, i see no problems there. Greetz, Jan Willem
