I can't reproduce your problem, but your program is in error.  Note the
change that I have made below (the line with the comment):

        program buggy
        integer quadrado        ! *** otherwise implicitly real ***
        print *, 'O quadrado de ', 5, ' eh ', quadrado(5)
        end program buggy
        integer function quadrado(x)
        integer x
        quadrado=x*x
        end function quadrado
