Well the 'DOS Shell environment' does support Long FileNames (or LFNs,
for short). It's DJGPP itself that, in your installation, lacks that
support. And that happened because you didn't follow all the
instructions in 'readme.1st', exactly. The thing you're missing is
a line
set LFN=y
in your autoexec.bat
A small look into the FAQ would also have given you advice faster, than
asking it here.
