I don't know if this'l help, but I would suggest that you get RHIDE. This
makes writing and compiling programs. Ever written a program in Turbo C++??
If so, the interface will be very familiar.
Emacs is a very powerful editor, with many features. Quite frankly, as I
understand it, it is not for the weak of heart, or for novices. (I've
considered getting it, but so far am quite satisfied by RHIDE.)
Also, why do you need to link libm.a??? It's a math lib, but most of its
functions are mirrored in libc.a, which is linked in by default.
Sorry about any typos, I'm typing this from school, and the position of the
keyboard is really weird.
