Did you really put those spaces in? You must not. Type at a
DOS prompt:
set DJGPP=c:\djgpp\djgpp.env
(updating the path if necessary). That should make the error go
away. If it does then something is wrong with your setting of
DJGPP in the autoexec.bat.
If the error does not go away then you must give more
information. Exactly where is djgpp installed? Please reboot
then post the result of typing `set > environ.txt' at the DOS
prompt, along with the full text of your autoexec.bat and
config.sys.

They probably don't actually work; they just don't check that
the environment variable is properly set.
Please read `readme.1st' for installation instructions, and read
the first chapters of the FAQ -- they deal with setting up djgpp
and diagnosing problems with the installation. Look at FAQ
section 6.6 and particularly section 8.1, for information on the
DJGPP environment variable.
