IMHO, every language can teach something. But Basic is not much easier
than C or Pascal, and like C, it maintains the distinction between code
and data, which I think causes youngsters to be brainwashed into thinking
that that's how things really are. LOGO is free from these problems. It
is IMHO much easier to go from LOGO to C or Pascal than the other way
around.
