Although these are valid concerns over environment variables and path
statements
I found the solution to this same problem in editing the dir.txi file and
running it through
the makeinfo utility (which comes with the djgpp kit) in the following way:
1.) Open the rhide.inf file in an editor which supports cut and paste
between widows/sessions.
2.) Find the section of text between the "ST-INF-DIR-ENTRY" and
"END-INF-DIR-ENTRY" labels.
3.) Copy this section to the clipboard or to a file or whatever.
4.) Append or concatenate the section just copied to the dir.txi file (I put
it at the very beginning).
5.) Run the makeinfo util using the dir.txi as the input file; to wit:
D:\...\makeinfo dir.txi
If you're leery about editing/changing distribution files make a back up
copy under another name,
that way you have recourse if you don't succeed the first time.
