To whom ever it may concern

All, I can say is HELP!!!
I have spent the better part of a day, trying to find out on the net, 

how the &&*%$£"* you load and display a bmp file on the screen!
But for the life of me, I can't find any source code on how to do 

this, most sites I visited, were too advanced.

I know this much, that you have to get into mode 13 or vesa, but 

beyond that I'm totally lost!  As you can tell, I'm a total newbie!
