It *is* documented. The library reference refers you to the DPMI
spec, and the FAQ reiterates the URLs where that spec is available.
The DPMI spec explains which fields of memory-related functions are
mandatory and which might be unsupported.

every message I post in reply takes some of my free time to analyze
the question, think about the best advice, consult the references, and
write it all down in a clear way (not necessarily an easy feat for
somebody whose first language isn't English). Please do not abuse the
good will of people who provide help here by posting questions for
which the answers are already available and easy to find. This forum
is NOT a free hot line.
