A bit off-topic for this group, but as you're here now...

I had this problem after installing Windows 95 on a machine which had
had Linux on it.

The fix is a command (format I think) with the undocumented "/mbr"
switch.

Search Microsofts knowledge base for "MBR" and "MASTER BOOT RECORD".

Do make sure you back up any data first.

P.S. apologies if this is coming through in HTML or RTF, I'm using MS
exchange and I can't find where to switch the blasted stuff off
selectively.
