I just installed the 2.8.1 version of gcc and tried to do a "gcc -v". It
didn't provide any output and the process "ntvdm" went nuts allocating
memory. I searched the FAQ & deja news for anyone  that may have had a
similar problem, to no avail. I reinstalled 2.7.2 & everything is ok. But is
there something about 2.8.1 & NT that aren't compatible?
