I've installed the egcs-19980531 source and I want to
apply the egcs-19980531-pgcc-19980531_diff patch.

What is the correct syntax to do this under MS-DOS
(using gnu patch v2.5). I've used the patch command
to apply the may 30 diff to allegro, so I think I'm probably
doing something wrong with the egcs-pgcc diff.

BTW, I'm new to this, so forgive me if this is a simple question.
