It looks like some mess in the way I (or djgpp's libc) handle DOS text files.
Just run dtou over allegro.inf and your problems will go away.
Some time ago I used a methode to avoid it because libc was buggy. But after
2.01 Robert realized that all could work OK just using the text mode for the
files and he ask me to use it. But now looks like something is broken again.
I'll check the source of the problem to see if the fault isn't in my routines.
Anyways, converting to UNIX format you will save disk. I don't know why when I
suggested to distribute the files in this way I got a lot of no no from the
list.
