I am looking in to making a short DJGPP program to change filenames. A
couple of questions first:
1)I'll be changing all filenames to 8.3 style DOS names
(xxxxxxxx.xxx), but I'd like to make the program so the input
filenames can be long. Can my program simply read the DOS equivelent
of the long filenames from a directory for input to my DJGPP program?
(i.e. "HELLOW~1.TXT" instead of "HelloWorld.txt")?
2) Are there specific DJGPP commands I should know about for doing
this sort of task? I've looked through the libc info a bit, but didn't
find anything appropriate.
The key thing is that I don't want to simply open a file and copy it
to a new name- that would be easy, but I really just want to just
change the name. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!
