Real reason of infinite loop is missing definition of %DJDIR% which SHOULD be defined in DJGPP.ENV. So if You have corrupt DJGPP.ENV or %DJGPP% is not pointing correctly to this file then the result will be this problem This shows You have some problem with DJGPP instalation. I can suggest to read documentation of DJGPP (including DJGPP FAQ) how to install it. Other possibility is to try package djverify written by John Aldrich (http://www.cs.com/fighteer/files/vrfy04a.zip.). But please consider that this utility is still in testing stage. Perhaps I'll upload new version of gcc-2.8.1 after some time which will have fixes for this (and also other) problems (at least issuing fatal error message) Andris
