Note that the DOS/Windows INT 21h API will accept either forward or back- slashes in any pathname (all pathname-processing functions internally do a TRUENAME, one of whose effects is to change all forward slashes to backslashes). Unfortunately, that still doesn't help the apparent UNC confusion with two consecutive slashes after the drive letter.... Ralf
