You probably need to increase the available environment space. Look in
your 'config.sys' for a line reading:
SHELL=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /P
To this line, add the /E:NNNN parameter, where NNNN specifies the amount
of environment space to use. Mine looks like this:
SHELL=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /P/E:2048
If the line doesn't exist, go ahead and add it.

If you continue to have problems, please post a system report as
described in chapter 6.12 of the DJGPP Frequently Asked Questions list.
