When LFN support was introduced, it had some subtle bugs which
required a very careful setup. So it was turned off by default, to
prevent a lot of people from having a non-functional package. Now
these problems are solved, so the next release will turn LFN on by
default.

Please refrain from calling work of other people dumb, especially if
you don't know anything about the reasons behind certain design
decisions. No design decision in DJGPP was made without thorough
discussion. Don't expect people to help you for free if you call them
dumb.
