I can't seem to get the ascii drawing characters to show up in my programs..
they are printed as is.. anyone have an explaination, and how I can fix this? 

Example of drawing chars I am refering to:  
       IŻ   
       § §       should draw a small box like this:  __
       EIŹ                                                       |__|
