I don't think you should try enlarging the transfer buffer as the first
attempt to correct this. With a compressed drive, you should first make
sure you have a disk cache installed, and set the cache parameters in an
optimal way. If you cannot figure this out, post your CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT, and also tell something about your system software (DOS?
Windows? what version?).
In addition, run go32-v2 with no arguments and post what it prints.
