No, textcolor does not require ANSI.SYS. By the way, Ansi.sys can be used in Windows 95 DOS Box. If you want to use ANSI.SYS under Windows 95, you must load it in CONFIG.SYS: DEVICE=PATH_TO_ANSI_SYS\ANSI.SYS
