Hello Shawn:

I just finished doing it again, following instructions. Allegro has not be
tampered with except to play the demo game which worked fine.

After firing off patch -p1 < difmar19.diff [This time I even included the
extra f which I ignored before]
this is what happened (just as before):

After 18 lines of "patching file..." notes, it stopped and I saw this:

Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [n]

Not having the foggiest what this meant I just hit Enter.

Then it said:

Apply anyway? [n]

Again not knowing what to do I hit Enter.

Then it went to a conclusion, but on the way there were some discouraging
remarks which I do not understand.

Now, maybe the problem is I did not answer the questions properly.

I would like wait until I hear from you before I do a "make" as to what I
should have done in response these inquiries.

I have never installed a patch where I had to respond to questions--I know,
I know, I am a newbie dummy, but I have done pretty good so far with
DJGPP/RHIDE/ALLEGRO/SET and so on.

Please help.

Ralph
