In the ADIP :). The original version of the ADIP was pathetic really,
as you described. Versions after about December 1996, though, have a
thing called the AWE32/EMU8000 Programmer's Guide. It's reasonably
useful, although I wish it didn't have so many mistakes and
omissions. Why they can't just release some SoundFont => EMU8000
parameter conversion source code I have no idea.
