If you have access to the web (hopefully you do), go to
www.delorie.com and look for something that points you to searching
the "Mail Archives". This subject must have been brought up 2-3
times in the last couple of months, and I rather think qualifies it
as a FAQ. It almost certainly a FAQ in the comp.lang.c newsgroup, as
I recall, and this is really a better place for this question, where
you will undoubtedly find the most authoritative answer.
