Hello,
I've recently upgraded from OS/2 v3.0 to OS/2 v4.0 and I think the
following is very important to note:
1) OS/2 v4.0 seems to have the DPMI bug fixes (I assumed the fixpacks
for OS/2 v3.0 would do this, but perhaps they did not...) This means
that you no longer have to always set DPMI to ENABLED, AUTO will do
just fine for RHIDE.
2) Secondly, RHIDE 1.4 and up (especially the betas, 1.4.3 and such..)
kept on terminating after the compiler completed its work. Under OS/2
v4.0 (I use fixpack 5), this no longer happens. RHIDE 1.4.3 is fully
functional.
2a) Because of the above, I think it is important to realize the
problem *probably* lies with OS/2 v3.0, however, many people still use
it (and I can see why.) You should not simply tell them "go upgrade!"
I would find a way to work around this error if OS/2 v3.0 is detected
to be running.
\---> (This is meant for Robert)
3) If you want to ask me any questions regarding RHIDE's performance
under OS/2, feel free to ask.
Thanks for your time and effort,
Gili
