I'm hoping there's something completely obvious I've overlooked that will
fix this problem, because I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else... Here
are the symptoms:
DJGPP/Rhide worked perfectly for me under Win95. I recently installed WinNT
4.0 Workstation. Now, if I try to start RHIDE:
a) If the DOS box is in window mode, the first time I type RHIDE nothing
happens -- i.e., I just get dumped back to the command prompt. The second
time I try to load the program (within the same BOS box), it loads, but if I
then switch the window to full-screen mode, RHIDE crashes and sometimes
completely hangs the computer.
b) If the DOS box is in full-screen mode when I start RHIDE, it loads and
seems to work fine -- but if I switch to window mode, it crashes.
c) (Separate problem): When RHIDE is in window mode, WinNT updates the
screen something like only once every half second, as opposed to Win95 which
was very fast. I like using the higher monitor refresh rates that I can get
under Windows, but unless it updates the contents of the window a bit
faster, it's too sluggish to use! Is there any way to make WinNT pay more
attention to updating the screen?
