Hope I have chosen the right place for this question......
I have a 486 66mhz with 8 meg of ram. I bought 4 simms of 4 meg each to
'boost' my ram, and can't seem to get them right. The system still sees
only 8 megs of memory, no matter what order I install the simms. I have
tried 4 new with 4 of the old, 4 new alone, and have installed them in
different positions too. A couple of times I was taken to Setup on bootup
with a "memory mismatched" message but don't think that should be
required. I thought the post just sees the ram for itself. Any tips or
sharing of facts here would be greatly appreciated by this novice.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Christopher
