Please see Section 17 of the DJGPP FAQ, to begin, and also

info as

for GNU documentation on GAS (the GNU assembler), especially the section
on the i386.

As I've learned through experience, there's not yet a "manual" of assembly
language programming using AT&T syntax (unless one has come out since I
last checked), but there are some interesting tutorials in progress.
