i think you're just asking for trouble ;)
both lcc-win32 and cygwin32 are free Windoze compilers that can use
DirectX. use lcc-win32 if you are not "UNIX-y" and use cygwin32 if you're
familiar with UNIX and want to keep that programming environment.
