Yes, of course. The 'void' type was added (officially) with the 1989 ANSI C
standard and didn't exist in the first edition of 'The C Programming Language,'
by K&R, although they do note in the second addition that the use of 'void'
(along with 'enum') had become common since then and before the standard.
I'd recommend reading up on the history of C, just a little.
