Huh?  v2gnu/pat25b.zip includes info/patch.1 which is a formatted man 
page. 

What version of `patch' lacks the man page, and what is the name of the
zip file which you downloaded?  If it's `patch' v2.1, then its main 
documentation is in Diffutils Info file (type "info diff").
