No, it has lots of features that I like.

Yes, you're right. When a program gives an error message then does
nothing for 15 seconds, with no hard disk activity and no "Wait..."
message, I think it's not unreasonable to think that it has hung.
But eventually it does start up properly.

My DJGPP environment variable is defined as:
DJGPP=C:\S\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV
which is the correct full pathname to DJGPP.ENV.
I did NOT edit DJGPP.ENV. I tried editing it AFTER I discovered that
removing the DJGPP environment variable prevented info from giving the
error message and appearing to hang.
