Are you running (or have you installed) RHIDE under Windows 95?
If yes, you should read the readme's and/or doc for RHIDE about
the problems when installing/using RHIDE under this OS with
the long filenames.

To use an other language than English you don't need gettext
nor haven't to copy the .mo file to any other place. The only thing
what you need is to install the binaries for RHIDE correct and then
the '-L ??' switch should work.

BTW: I hope your directory fragment "\share\locale\..." means
something like "c:\djgpp\share\locale\..." (where c:\djgpp is
your DJGPP directory).
