I've got a problem with assembly in DJGPP2

When I try to use variables in my assembler code I get an error message
saying something like, you must declare variable before using it.

When I just compile my program without creating a .EXE file I get no
errors, it's only when I try to build a .EXE file I get this error.

Anyone know why?
