Well, this is Robert's fault, he made RHIDE so powerful, everyone
is demanding _MORE_ ;-))
What might cure the pain (at least slightly) is go to Project|Write
Makefile,
edit the Makefile so it fits to your needs, and have a switch in RHIDE
that
you can choose between its internal rule set and a simple call for MAKE.
As the internal rule set will _always_ be incomplete, this might
be a solution. Nobody keeps me from editing my TeX files with RHIDE and
demanding that F9 will make a ps file (Actually, I never tried this,
butÀ the environment is extendible enough to nearly archieve it).
