Allegro 3.0 is not finished yet, but the latest WIP (Work In Progress)
version is way way ahead of Allegro 2.2; it has support for 8, 15, 16, 24 and
32-bit colour modes, also the very trendy 320x100x256 mode ;). The sound API
has been changed, more cards are now supported, 3D drawing functions are
improved, datafiles can be read in different ways or even appended to
executables, ... the list goes on and on.

: Could I also be informed of a web address where i could get the latest
: version of allegro (the WIP one or the finished one) and could someone
: please tell me Shawn Hargreaves e-mail address.

The Allegro homepage is http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/
WIP information is on http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/wip.html
Shawn's email address is on those pages too.

: NB: Pease reply via e-mail.

Done; but you really ought to read the djgpp group (by mailing list or
newsgroup) and if you're interested in Allegro, join the Allegro mailing
list. Discussion there is on a variety of topics, from simple questions to
library improvements. Instructions for joining are on the Allegro homepage.
