You can also try JAS just another free assembler for DJGPP. JAS is based
upon NASM, but implements procedure definition directives and some macro
processing, much like the good old TASM. Another thing, JAS is a one pass
assembler, while NASM is a two pass one. Take a look at JAS, you can
download it from my home page. JAS is still in beta, please report me any
bug you encounter.
