I've got an idea for a new project the people of the mailing list. Why
doesn't somebody try to create a DOS web browser? I don't know enough
about serial communications to even attempt this but there's gotta be
somebody out there who does. I know a little about graphics(mostly mode
13h)but I probably wouldn't be much help. I know there have been ports of
TCP/IP to DJGPP(I think I saw this at Brennan's Page) & I'm sure this
wouldn't be too much of a project if alot of people got together & worked
efficiently. If anybody wants to try this, I got some suggestions on how
the UI could be done. A good start to getting this project off would be
to try to implement this on systems with a 386, 4MB of RAM, & a VGA
display. With these requirements, it would be a candidate for GNU/FSF
distribution because almost everyone has this on their system. I
personally want this because I hate going to Win$uck 9$ so I can get on
the internet though I love Netscape's Communicator 4.03. This is not a
flame of Money$oft...just a challenge to those on web to out do Bill in
another facet of the PC industry(Hey, we already did it with a C compiler
<g>).
