I found out last week that ghostscript
in the aladdin incarnations at least 
will not write to a video display unit
in mono.
ega definitely cannot work with screen
review packages and speech synthesizers.
Perhaps cga might.  In any case, I think
another employee will be tasked with
the conversion work.  Thanks much for
your warning about line drawing characters
that look like text.  I'll pass it along
and those files will likely be checked
out for that potential problem.
