I'm not a big graphics hack, and I'm rather GNU to this, so I'm asking
help in finding a high-level 3D library for DJGPP.
I've been all over the 3D Engines page, BetaTech and DJ's site, and the
usuals, and I haven't really thought "THAT's the one!" yet.
For the purposes of my project, ease of use is MUCH more important than
performance. I NEED: C++ and VESA support, some basic cameras, lights,
phong/gouraud shading, primitives, model manipulations, sprites, overlays,
and particles. And cross-DJGPP compatibility for Linux (though I'm using DOS).
Wait... am I narrowing it down to MESA and GLUT?
I've got MESA installed, and it's powerful and cross-platform and all, but
it's so damn complicated I tried installing GLUT, which is confusing me to
no end. I have Allegro 2.2+WIP, but can't install svgalib for some reason.
*sigh*
Sorry if I'm leaving out important information... I'm just so pitifully
confused with MESA/GLUT right now. I follow this group religiously
(constantly), so please dump a suggestion on me and I'll probably scarf it
up in an hour....
Thanks, you're ALL really cool. 8)
