Since I'm only a very new beginner at assembly language, I wouldn't want
to guess wrong in interpreting what the compiler is doing here. When used
by a human programmer, however, #APP means "remove whitespace and
comments," while #NO_APP means "don't remove whitespace and comments."
Again, please see the documentation, which explains more about these
issues.
