I am releasing the source (C and asm) for my CPU ID routine. I originally
started writing it just to detect an MMX cpu, but I decided to make it
more useful for others to use. I have submitted the code to be included in
the next release of Allegro.
Features include:
Uses the cpuid instruction if supported
Detects 386 thru Pentium 2
Detects FPU
Detects MMX
Correctly detects Cyrix cpu's which do not support the cpuid instruction
Can be easily modified to detect more details as needed
