it's been a long time since i downloaded allegro and haven't done
anything with it, so i am not speaking from experience here.
assuming you are doing your drawing on an off-screen buffer and then
blitting/flipping that to the screen, you could do a show_mouse on that
buffer before you display it. i think there is also a flag called
freeze_mouse_flag, see if that can help.
