There's a utility on the internet called detar.exe that's supposed to do a pretty good job of converting long file names into 8.3 style file names. The utility is called detar.exe if memory serves. opendos is beta and there's something even more beta about part of it now. command.com in the newest beta version supports long file names in dos. //eoj jude <jdashiel AT eagle1 DOT eaglenet DOT com> Microsoft asks me where I want to go today but UNIX gets me there.
