The info docs (as.inf) tell about the features of the assembler. The opcode
and operand syntax are discussed in section 17.1 of the FAQ.
GAS is sort of ugly and buggy for writing assembly routines. I recommend
NASM, an assembler which can output in a format linkable for DJGPP. It's on
Simtelnet in the asmutil directory.
