You need to send a Redraw message to the bitmap item in the dialog.  For
example:

#define DIALOG_BITMAP	3  // (Position of the bitmap in your dialog struct)
SEND_MESSAGE(your_dialog+DIALOG_BITMAP, MSG_DRAW, 0);
