Thanks, I'll have a look.  What I'm really after is a scoring package,
but I think to get one which will suit me I'll have to write it myself
anyway...

Two problems - I haven't managed to get it to output anything under
Linux yet (it will edit things, just), and it also uses the standard
/dev/sequencer drivers and who knows what they do <g>.  It says it has
its own MIDI driver but I can't get that to do anything either.

I do have the source of it, though, which might help...
